Jenni Rivera Receives Posthumous Honor with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Jenni Rivera, a renowned Mexican American singer, has been elected to a posthumous tribute and will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that the ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on June 27 in front of the Capitol Records building on Vine Street. Mexican pop star Gloria Trevi will give a speech in Rivera's honor during the event.


Rivera's star will be 2,783rd on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the recording category. Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame, emphasized that the tribute celebrates not only Rivera's musical accomplishments, but also her resilience, courage, and unwavering spirit. The ceremony will be an emotional moment, with Rivera's children receiving the honor on her behalf, reminding everyone of the singer's remarkable trajectory.


Born Dolores Janney Rivera in 1969 in Long Beach, California, Jenni Rivera became a powerful figure in Mexican music beginning in the late 1990s. Known as “La Diva de la Banda”, her music tackled themes of love, heartbreak, and social issues, resonating with a wide audience. Rivera has sold more than 20 million records worldwide, cementing herself as one of the best-selling Latin artists of all time.


Her hit albums, such as "Parrandera, Rebelde y Atrevida" (2005), "Mi Vida Loca" (2007), and "Joyas Prestadas" (2011), demonstrated her versatility and talent. Throughout her career, Rivera has received numerous awards, including multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards and Latin Grammy nominations.


The tribute on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a recognition of Jenni Rivera's lasting impact on the music industry and a celebration of her legacy, ensuring that her memory remains alive among fans around the world.
