Marcos Cordeiro Pires

 Graduated in History (1990), Master in Economic History (1996), Ph.D. in Economic History, all from the University of São Paulo (2002), and Habilitation in International Political Economy from Unesp (2013). He is an Associate Professor at UNESP-College of Philosophy and Sciences-Campus of Marília, in undergraduate courses in International Relations and the Graduate Program in Social Sciences (Marília) and the Graduate Program in International Relations "San Tiago Dantas" -Unesp- PUC- SP- Unicamp. He has experience in the fields of Economic History and Political Economy, and International Political Economy. Areas of interest are the insertion of the Brazilian economy in the world economy, globalization and economic development, Brazil-China relations, and the BRICS Group. He is currently researching the relations between China, Brazil, and Latin America and also political and cultural aspects of the Latino/Hispanic population in the United States. He is co-coordinator of the BRIC Research Group (CNPq), and also a member of the Institute of Economic and International Studies, Coordinator of the Latino Observatory and researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology for Studies on the United States (INCT-INEU).
