René "Residente" Pérez Joglar has used his music as a powerful tool to address social issues, especially immigration in the United States. His commitment to this cause is evident in his participation in the track Immigrants (We Get the Job Done), part of The Hamilton Mixtape.

Recently, he revisited this song to reinforce his support for migrants, sharing a clip of the song on his X  account and expressing solidarity with Dominicans in Puerto Rico and Latin Americans in the U.S., according to a report by the Latin Times. The message "No human being is illegal" reaffirms its stance against discrimination and restrictive immigration policies.

Since its release in 2016, Immigrants (We Get the Job Done) has become an anthem for the migrant community, highlighting the hardships faced and the contribution of immigrants to American society. The song brings together artists such as Snow Tha Product, K'naan and Riz MC, who, together with Residente, denounce injustices and prejudice against migrants. The Puerto Rican's lyrics are marked by emotional intensity, portraying the sacrifices of those who seek a better life.

Resident's engagement in this theme is not limited to this range. In 2022, he released This is Not America, in partnership with Ibeyi, challenging the appropriation of the term "America" by the United States. Years earlier, still as a member of Calle 13, he launched Pa'l Norte, a tribute to the journey of migrants, and Latinoamérica, a celebration of the identity and resistance of the peoples of the region.

Resident's music goes beyond protest; It is a recognition of the strength and hard work of immigrants. His lyrics amplify stories that are often ignored, transforming his art into a platform for awareness and resistance.
