Camila Carraro Mendes is an American actress, singer, and creative director. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on June 29, 1994, Mendes is the daughter of Brazilian parents, Gisele and Victor Mendes, originally from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and Brasília, Federal District, respectively. She grew up in a multicultural environment and moved several times during her childhood, having spent most of it in Florida, in addition to having lived for a year in Brasilia.
After graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in May 2016, Mendes began her artistic career. Her first acting job was in an IKEA commercial, and in 2016, she landed the role of Veronica Lodge in the popular television series “Riverdale”, based on the Archie Comics characters. Since then, she has risen to prominence in other projects, including films such as “The Perfect Date”, “Palm Springs”, and “Do Revenge”.
In addition to her career in entertainment, Mendes is also known for her advocacy for Latino identity and her fight against discrimination in Hollywood. She identifies as Latin American and speaks fluent English and Portuguese. In interviews, she has expressed gratitude for her Brazilian and American roots, highlighting how these two cultures have shaped her identity.
