Daniella Ramirez, 22 (Miramar, Florida), is a third-generation artistic swimmer who followed in her grandmother's and mother's footsteps in the sport. Since she was a little girl, Daniella has been immersed in the aquatic environment, influenced by her family's passion for artistic swimming. Despite all this tradition, no member of the family had won an Olympic spot until this year.

Daniella and her team secured a spot at the Paris Olympics by putting in an impressive performance at the World Championships in Doha, breaking a 16-year drought for the United States at the Games. During the competition in Paris, the team excelled, winning the silver medal with a remarkable score, marking the first U.S. medal in artistic swimming since 2004.

Daniella's journey to this moment has been full of challenges and sacrifices. She left her home in Florida at the age of 15 to train with the U.S. national team in California, facing logistical difficulties and separation from her family. Her mother, Mindiola, struggled to relocate and stay by her daughter's side, while her father, Fernando Ramirez, reflected emotionally on the sacrifice the family made to support Daniella's Olympic dream.

Winning the medal was not only a personal accomplishment for Daniella, but also a triumph for her family and the immigrant community in the United States, who see Daniella's victory as a celebration of the effort and opportunities that the country offers. The silver medal symbolizes not only Daniella's success, but also the return of the United States to the competitive artistic swimming scene.
