Senator Ted Cruz, despite comfortably leading the polls for the upcoming election in Texas, continues to reinforce anti-immigration rhetoric. On his "Verdict" podcast, Cruz accused Vice President Kamala Harris and the Mexican government of facilitating illegal immigration, suggesting they are encouraging an "invasion" at the U.S. southern border.
Cruz criticized a new plan by the Mexican government, which will offer bus trips for non-Mexican migrants with appointments on the CBP One app, making it easier for these migrants to travel to the U.S. border. He said Harris was behind this initiative, with the aim of bringing more illegal immigrants to the country, accusing her of coordinating these actions with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He also suggested that both Harris and López Obrador share the intention to radically transform U.S. policies, moving them to the left, according to the Latin Times report.
Another accusation would be that the Mexican
government would be providing armed escorts to protect migrants during their
journeys, insinuating that this action collaborates with human traffickers.
According to Cruz, this situation is part of a larger strategy by Democrats to
increase illegal immigration and ensure continued electoral victories in the future.
